Event background

This event took place in the context of Eurofound’s ongoing efforts with key stakeholders at the national level to ensure widespread dissemination and dialogue on our research findings.

Event overview

A stable and resilient economy depends on the creation and improvement of quality jobs - a priority for Slovakia’s labour market development. Equally important is building a dynamic and inclusive economic recovery that supports job creation while advancing the green and digital transformation. Quality jobs not only contribute to higher labour force participation, better well-being and increased economic performance, but are also a key component in making work sustainable by helping workers to stay motivated and engaged over the longer term.

This event looked, in particular, at how job quality is linked to labour shortages. It tackled the question how the attractiveness of specific sectors and occupations suffering from labour shortages can be increased. This included sectors and professions deemed essential such as the health sector, transport, agriculture, commerce and hospitality.

This event took place in collaboration with Eurofound’s Slovak Board Members and with its national correspondent in Slovakia.
